Paniolo is for Cowgirl too...

Ok Straight up, first off these women leave me in awe, and I want to be them. Ok moving on, did you know Hawaii had cows, specifically black long horn cattle in 1798, meaning we had cowboys before Arizona, Wyoming, and even Texas! I read that King Kamehameha III contracted Mexican vaqueros to teach Hawaiians how to ride, rope and tend cattle. I thought that was pretty cool fact.

The word Paniolo is said to derive from the word Espanol as we do not use "S" in the Hawaiian 'Olelo. Most the time the word Paniolo is associated with "cowboy" but I bring to awareness that we have some amazing "cowgirls" from the islands too. I mean just check these women out! Jaw drop awe, their life>your life 😂

This shoot right here, on the real was my dream shoot. I had been trying for over 2 years to get images of an incredible woman on a horse on the beach. Each time a plan was set something came up, the discouragement was real. Well patience paid off, I ended up having 4 incredible woman to capture riding bare back on the beach just like they do for fun. Rainbow was extra, can't even, just perfect. Thank you ladies for being so epic in sooo many ways.

A special thank you for reading my blog check out the entire gallery!
